Independent Educational Consultants (IECs) work alongside families to support their college planning journeys. IECs come from backgrounds in school counseling, college admissions, tutoring and test prep, classroom education, or other service-oriented careers. As I expanded my support services for families through the adolescent years in my coaching practice, I pursued an intensive post-graduate certificate program through UC Irvine to to become an Independent Educational Consultant.

With my completion of in-depth courses in financial aid, college planning, counseling techniques, support for students applying to universities outside the United States, and best practices for IECs, coupled with my previous hands-on experience as a college application and essay coach in a large high school and with private clients, I am well equipped to partner with families in the undergraduate college planning process, both in the United States and abroad.

I am a member of IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association) and

PCACAC (Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling). Membership in these professional associations assures my clients of my ongoing professional development and accountability, as well as adherence to the highest standards of ethical practices in my consulting. I am also a certified UK agent, a formal recognition through the British Council that I can provide advising on accessing higher education opportunities in the United Kingdom.
